About Us

The NSW Farmers' Association promotes agriculture and the best interests of Farmers and Rural Communities across New South Wales. The NSW Farmers' Association can trace its history back to the 1890's with the formation of the Pastoralists Union and the Farmers and Settlers Association, after attempts over the previous 50 years had failed to bring about continuously unified groups.

These bodies later became the Graziers Association and the United Farmers and Woolgrowers Association. In 1978 these bodies and the Graziers Association of the Riverina merged and from 1985 adopted the name of the NSW Farmers' Association.

The NSW Farmers' Association is recognised as the premier lobbying force for farmers in Australia. Our success is based on our long standing policy of operating as a 'grassroots' organisation by maintaining the closest possible communication links between all members.
